Snaggle Bob

Posted by Bob on August 8th, 2005 under Bob

I just got my first adult tooth pulled. It’s way over at the top right so I don’t miss it, but it is the first time I have been missing a tooth for fifty-five years. It is amazing how painless dentistry is these days.

When it comes to real pain, women are far braver than men. A man would pass out at the pain of childbirth, but women want to SEE that human being they have been living with for nine months.

Also it is a part of a man’s function NOT to put up with pain. Men are supposed to fight back. If the man doesn’t fight back, who is going to, the women and children? Women learn patience for their role in life, but they are in bad trouble if the men who are supposed to fight back learn to accept whatever comes.

When the dentist says, “You’ll only feel a little pressure,” you automatically know he’s lying. How can I say this? Because, according to your advice, Bob, if someone’s trying to sell you something he stops being 100% creditable and is at least lying about something. Kind of reminds of me of that t.v. hospital show where the British/American doctor fights all sorts of impossible, un-fixable diseases (and always wins in the end). The doctor is always raving about how his patients are lying, lying, lying about something — that everyone is lying, lying, lying about something and his staff are oh-so-shocked to hear a man of science say such a thing. But at the end of sixty minutes and numerous commercials we find he was indeed right. Lying, lying, lying. And from a doctor! Who woulda’ thunk it?

    Mark, excellent points.

It is very good to know someone is listening. If you use my ideas to get ahead of me, all the better.

Insights are a total failure if they don’t lead to more insights.
