Ars Gratia Artis

Posted by Bob on April 20th, 2008 under General

MGM’s slogan means “art for art’s sake.”

First lesson, if you want to find out what someone REALLY stands for, find the opposite of the line they repeat most. If any employee of MGM had come in with a proposal that a movie be produced entirely “for arts sake,” the question would not be, “Will he be fired?” The only debate would be over whether they would open the door before they kicked him out of it.

I just saw that slogan again at the beginning of a Thin Man movie from the 1930s. The Thin Man, Nick Charles, is ALWAYS drunk. He always has a drink in his hand. A decade or so previously the big movies were attacks on saloons, showing men becoming drunks and ruining their wives and kiddies.

If you don’t like the Tide of Public Opinion, just wait a while. Another one will come along.

The membrane of Politically Correct lies that coat the world lead directly to self-inflicted injury.

This is again something that is so obvious nobody notices it.

So the Israel Military Complex gets itself in a jam way down yonder in Mespotamia and Hezbollah and the real military threat to Israel is strengthened.

So now Israel is suffering the irony of a reverse Warsaw Ghetto situation where they are the Nazis and the Palestinian Egyptians trapped in Gaza are the Jews. Meanwhile Iran plays the role of the Russians and Hezbollah plays the role its Slavic allies, promising the “Jews” liberation from their Gaza (Warsaw) prison.

Don’t tell me WWII has ended and let what is left of the “Greatest Generation” chew on that fact a while. They never understood anything about the War to begin with.

It all comes around in a circle and the end is the beginning.

That is why the day will come when Poland’s tourist trade in Holocaust lies will end. That day is coming sooner than most people think.

It really is interesting what all is popping up from the repressed. Enoch Powell’s speech, back from the dead to haunt the living. I’m just now getting so much of what I missed out on, earlier in my life. But, I definately think “it’s better late than never.”

Dave you said it a few month’s ago about the jews taking advantage of WWII when in America we did not make much of defeating Germany beyond the martial ceremony. They think they are beyond reproach because of that. One day they will be asked why exactly in their minds they are beyond reproach, then the games will begin.

As for Enoch its nice that we get to listen to his wisdom, but in the political circle we really need to hear the “wisdom” of Trevor Phillips. We need for Trevor to tell us exactly which words it is that will get us arrested.

Simmons, I think that Trevor Phillips is going to be one of the haunted living. He already appears to have a problem.
