The critical thing here is that in calling a slavery movement a “dictatorship of the proletariat” one makes a huge hurdle for any critics. They have to say that the movement is doing what it says it is against, and that is a huge hurdle all by itself.

Everybody sees the new slavocrats in other societies fighting what they are used to associating with exploitation. Everybody who heard abut the tortures of the Inquisition saw monks providing food for people in a society where starvation was routine way to die.
