    Awesome work guys! Especially 4MyNation! This is getting me so pumped! I feel like it’s the old days when I was politically active with an unrelated movement. Our crews put up tons of banners, went door-to-door, mailed stuff, held up signs to cars on the highway and busy intersections…the parallels are growing by the day! It’s starting to sink in for me, we’re doing this!.

    I’m thinking I might need to bone-up on my banner making skills/knowledge. What a perfect thread!

    Now, I haven’t made a ton of banners by myself. We did them in groups usually. But I do remember us using zip-ties to fasten them to fences etc. If you’re banner is designed for them (which might be a problem), they are great because they hold really well and it makes taking them down much more difficult.

    GregP – if you are making a banner from a white tarp – they usually have rings on all 4 corners…

    Thanks for the encouragement, guys. Also, you can get blank banners of varying sizes here:

    I’m going to try to set up something where you guys can order banners from me, cheap. I’ve got a lot to get caught up on first, lots of projects in the works, but then I’ll probably pre-design a bunch of different ones with BUGS talking points. There is a certain type of banner material that is very fast and easy, not super heavy duty, but not super expensive either and would certainly work for most BUGSers.

    I have a question about bestblanks.com. Do they sell stick on letters for the banners as well?

    What do you guys think of this STOP WHITE GENOCIDE design?

    http://www.bannersonthecheap.com/PowerDesign.aspx?T=546C4558665A69636279524773353667734E756A65413D3D

    You can order it in 4 X 8 for under $35, but I’m more interested in your thoughts about the design.

    For another look, click the edit button under the sign, then select the blue area (which looks like it selects the whole item, but it’s just the background) and click the white colored icon. Then the color scheme looks kind of like the STOP is a stop sign and WHITE GENOCIDE is in red on a white background. I don’t know which one I like more.

    Would a 4 X 8 like the one I linked to be visible from a car on the highway if it were on an overpass? I think it would…

    SWG, no, I don’t believe so. That’s something that most of the people who order from them have the machine for, unless you want to paint onto the banner, etc. It’s tricky to get the hang of applying large vinyl letters too without ruining them. Do you have a youtube account? Tell me the name here, and message me on youtube.com/4mynation, if you want. Anyone with a new name and no Swarm history, don’t bother.

    Another idea: on the selected day, would it not also be easy to make signs that stick in the ground (like local public office signs) and stick them in public places, preferably where there is a lot of traffic (you know, the places where you see the other signs during that time of year).

    I don’t think a single sign would get that much attention, BUT if there were multiple ones, on the same day as the others I can definitely see it being in news clips and making it seem even more wide-spread.

    I think this would be a good alternative for pro-Whites not willing or unable to make banners. Plus you probably have the supplies already, and know how to do it.

    GregP, that’s pretty cheap for a 4×8. That’s if they don’t refuse to print it. Hopefully, they wouldn’t refuse. You also take the risk of them being Anti-White and having your address. But, most likely it would be alright would be my guess.

    IMO – The words probably aren’t big enough for that size banner, too much wasted space, try stretching them out sideways some. I would go with just a plain white background, you don’t want signs to be too busy, super simple and easy to read is the ticket, I believe.

    @GregP the ideal height for letters on a highway billboard is 3 feet. If you plan to put it on an overpass – i would say 2 feet is good – but i wouldnt go much under that.

    Another thing – when you are putting up these signs – you run the risk of having them taken down VERY quickly. I would call the media immediately before you even put up a sign & tell them you saw it.

    Here is a quick design … trying to maximize the space… if you want it to stand out – use a bright colored background.

    Another idea @ gregp. something you COULD do is make the banner shaped as a stop sign – and just put WHITE GENOCIDE in the middle… that way you can use larger letters and you still get the message across.

    @4MyNation
    So you’re saying the ideal height for LETTERS—not the size of the banner—is 2-3 feet, correct? I misread that before and thought a 3 foot high banner was sufficient. That certainly changes things.

    As a side note:
    Personally, I want to push the White Genocide meme (ideally, Diversity is a codeword for White Genocide) equally as much as the ARIACWFAW one. I think “diversity” is used much more than anti-racist these days. It wouldn’t hurt us at all because they are both simple and connected. Plus they get people thinking ABOUT the connection.

    @LinuxLewis
    That’s a good idea.

    So you think putting the STOP part in-between White and Genocide is a good idea? I know it would save space, but I’m wondering if it would cause confusion and if the color scheme would work and make what we’re saying obvious (i.e. if it’s all in white, it would read WHITE STOP GENOCIDE).

    Here’s an idea: Red poster board cut into the stop sign shape and reading STOP WHITE GENOCIDE. It could be made bigger than a normal stop sign too, and then put anywhere.

    The same idea would work for a quick, cheap banner that you KNOW wouldn’t last long. Just something to get attention. Obviously, it would need to be bigger.

    On the other hand, I’m guessing it might not look very professional, which I think we are kind of going for. Glossy and clean for targeting the masses.

    now that i think about it a stop sign banner on a highway is probably not a good idea… safety issues… but i dunnoh… what does everyone else think?

    @GregP
    – i was the one who suggested around 2 feet height. I was reading the otherday that for billboards you want 3 feet for letters – but if its on an overpass – 2 feet should be a really good size.

    I agree about not on the highway for the stop sign, and that is a great design!

    I’ve used packcloth lately, and I like it. The texture takes paint well, but it’s expensive. Even on sale, the 60″ width was $6/yard.

    I might try a grommeted banner roll in the future.

    A really cheap alternative that I want to try is butcher paper with Scotch Tape attachments rather than grommets and zip ties.
