I’m glad you found it helpful, brother.
I do kind of wonder if those on a list know and/or can check if they’re on a list. (I’m not sure if this is good Twitter-manners or not.)
As far as I know, there are only two kinds of lists: Public and Private. Private lists are wholly Private. You can’t go to someone’s page, look at their Private lists, and see who is on there. If someone is added to a Private list—be they friendly or hostile, someone you follow or someone you don’t follow—they’ll never know.
Any Public lists you make will be accessible to anyone. You might even be able to subscribe to someone else’s Public list, and others might be able to subscribe to your Public lists. Not sure about that, as I’ve never tried it.
If someone else adds you to a Public list, you’ll receive an alert in your “Notifications” tab, the same way you receive RTs, Fav’s, Replies, etc. Likewise, if you add someone to a Public list, they’ll be notified.
If you want to see whether you are on any Public lists—thinking you may have missed or not understood the notification—go to Me -> More -> Lists. Then you’ll see “Subscribed to” and “Member of.” Click Member of. That will show you what Public lists you are on.
The more followers you get, the more lists are helpful as “Filtered” Home Feeds, since the main Home tab will move too quickly. Also, Lists are helpful if there are certain people you want to check up on from time to time, but don’t really want to follow (e.g., Ann Coulter, Pat Buchanan, various neo-cons [to see what memes they are pushing], etc.). That way, you don’t have to search for them individually every time.
And, as I stated in the first post, if Twitter won’t let you add someone to a list, then they have blocked you.

Question: Isn’t it true now that you can follow someone who has blocked you? I thought that change was implemented specifically so you could block people without them knowing.
I don’t think that you can. I had a prominent South African lady block me once (turned out she had blocked a few others). I can only assume that she was trying to use #WhiteGenocide to keep up with South Africa-specific news, Plaasmoorde, etc., and felt that BUGSters were spamming the #. I didn’t find out until I tried to follow her, and got the message “You have been blocked from following this account at the request of the user.”
Speaking of Roseanne, I just “unblocked her” to re-test it. We had an exchange a while back, and she blocked me after responding, so I blocked her back. Anyhow, just now, I “unblocked her” and tried to follow her, and once again got “You have been blocked from following this account at the request of the user.”
Of course, there might be something I’m not understanding, in which case someone else should chime in.
I found a self-described antifa group that had posted the name and phone number of a BUGSter, and was able to convey a warning to them immediately through a mutual contact … and I was at work, on my phone. Twitter is powerful.
I was just highlighting the immediacy and wide reach of Twitter. I think those of us aware of that incident are 99.9% certain that it had nothing whatsoever to do with BUGS. It was someone on message that was already “more public,” so to speak.
As to your doubts about Twitter: I understand. Everyone has their preferences, and YouTube and Facebook are still incredibly fertile fields for Mantra-sowing. I think if you play around with it a bit more, though, you’ll see more of its value. As an aside, it also provides an “immediacy” to “big names” (celebrities, journalists, etc.). Some really do read people that Tweet to them. Heck, Roseanne Barr has RT’d Tweets by AntiRacist Hitler—to her 249,000 followers—at least 5 times in the last two days, LOL.

Two clarifications (as if I hadn’t written too much already, LOL):
1) Regarding Tip # 2, and the difference between starting a Tweet with
@
or
.@At some point, I have Tweeted every BUGSter with an “.@”. I didn’t want anyone to be offended, thinking they fell into the category of “a hostile, or someone more likely to block you.” In the past, I never Tweeted “friendlies” with an “.@”.
However, due to Twitter’s recent changes—that is, separating the main page into “Tweets” and “Tweets and replies”—I have used the “.@” for a secondary purpose: If you want to include someone else in your Tweet, but still want it to remain on the “main feed” (i.e., “Tweets”, not “Tweets and replies”), then you can’t start off with “@”.
So, maybe I’m sharing Laura’s video, and want to include her on it (and thus spread the video, spread her profile, and possibly get her followers), but start off with @minyerva … most people won’t see it, as it will get “funneled” into “Tweets and replies.” If you are worried someone might offense to the .@, you can structure it like, “Hey @minyereva …”—anything to prevent that @ being the first thing. As I am as wordy on Twitter as I am on here, I usually go with the .@, to save characters.
2) Regarding Tip # 1 and #s: I shouldn’t have said “Sometimes I wonder about the purpose of a #, simply because Twitter’s algorithm is so strong that it will find all relevant results for the word in question.” #s do have a clear purpose, in that the vast majority of people use them on Twitter, in lieu of searching for particular words. Most people simply “click” on the #, which takes them to a stream of #-only results. And you’ll want to spread your message onto those.
I just find them useless when—as a BUGSter—I want to hone in like a laser beam and find every occurrence of “White Genocide” and “anti-White” this side of Svartalfheim.

He has been a college professor, international aviation negotiator, Capitol Hill senior staffer, Reagan Administration appointee, and writer for the Voice of America.
