Mike, Our Humor is a Bit Rough Here

Posted by Bob on November 28th, 2004 under Bob

Mike and Peter seem a bit confused by my long fake insults to HS and Richard.

Mike asked if I wanted comments or not.

Mike and Peter, if you ask Richard or HS, you will find they are both proud that I directed my fake put-downs at them, just as I directed one at myself.

If I like what you say, I’m not going to tell you you’re a sweet kid. That would make HS or Richard sick.

Look at what I said about HS and Richard. It said they are both big-leaguers.

It also says that HS and Richard can not only dish it out, they can take it.

I would much rather someone say that about me than give me some sugar-sweet words of praise.

Great! I noticed Richard and HS aren’t bothered.

Here’s something you left on you kitchen table that I’d like to share out here on the porch:

“Every country on earth is a nation of immigrants. Nobody EVOLVED in the land they live in. American Indians were immigrants.

“Every nation begins by immigration. Every nation is destroyed by immigration.

“Every people has the choice of giving their country away or demanding their rights. The World War II Generation, which had no moral courage at all, gave their country away.”

My Lord, Bob you are a genius! What a gift for simplification.

Diamonds look small, but when you turn them in the light, they sparkle and dazzle.

That was Mark, not Mike, I know better.

I remember when I was young. My buddies and me would often pound each other with words, sometimes fists. Everything was out there. It was very clean.

Now that we’re all ‘civilized’, everythings muddled up.

It’s good training to get knocked around a little.

Playfully insulting humor is commonplace between friends of the male persuasion. Bob and I have know each other for a bit and can trade playful barbs without being offended. REAL men insult each other all the time and last I looked Bob was no girly man. He also knows I’m not either.

Now if we can just get Bob to say what he really thinks we just might get somewhere.

Keep in mind that Bob has been a college professor. Not only does he have a skeleton in the closet, but he goes right ahead and lists it in his bio. This took courage, believe me.
