“Ironically, the safe, comfortable past is an elegant trap…”

Safe and comfortable may work if you are in Heaven, but down here on Earth you have to pay attention.

The “safe and comfortable past” is where our Conservatives hope we waste our lives trying to live.

I worked with a Civil War Re-Enactor, and I asked him why he went through all that he did. He replied, “The Lost Cause is the only Cause worth dying for.”

I could feel my blood pressure rise, and that is NOT Good News.

If the South had enough strategic thinkers, they would have sen the opportunities before them in quietly changing the System over the span of a generation, and developing their own intellectual centers of gravity.

    They didn’t.

They pretty much blindly followed the model that seemed to have worked so well for Mother England, while totally ignoring the new models that were being developed in Prussia, and the Germanies.

The safe past became the trap they fell into, and were doomed to remain in until the ICC reset the rail rates a century later. This system kept the South as, essentially, and ironically, a raw materials colony for the North – the British colonial economic model applied to America.

Worse, their Aristocracy did not consciously work on developing a Meritocratic Aristocracy among their children.

Now, it seems, between “Civil Rights” legislation and the Glorious Reconquista, the South shall decline again!

Well, at least they can wear the same style of clothing as Lee, and Jackson.

They just can’t develop children who can think like Lee and Jackson…

    “Say ‘Good Night,’ Gracie!”
