And the Big Pariah they quoted was Yours Truly.

Let us face the Big Truth, and let us face it squarely:

Lesser mortals will settle for such things as the Academy Award or the Nobel Prize.

But a truly sophisticated person desires, above all else, to be labelled by that unchallenged world champion of East Coast Provincialism.

Let me be even more daring.

The New York Times is pure unblemished Political Correctness, that is taken for granted. But the NYT has that added dash that carefully and flawlessly identifies the quote as American East Coast provincialism.

East Coast Provincialism of absolute purity.

But if you get the New York Provincial’s clearance there is only one small step even above THAT Lab tested crystal meth in the la ultimate lab purity bedlongs to the vanishing few who have gotten the officlal “Heresy”label from BOTH the new York Times AND National Review.

Even those who have been labelled by BOTH “provincial” not only by the NY Provincial, but also by National Review, the unquestionable champion of East Coast standard and packaged voice of East Coast standard and packaged “conservatism.”

It took me three quarters of century, but I got ’em BOTH!
