Real Women Don’t Laugh **AT** Children

Posted by Bob on December 8th, 2008 under General

As a practical matter I can only function best when I have a strong, intelligent, thoroughly female woman at my back. I cannot EXPLAIN this but I have a few observations about it that may entertain you because they are so true they’re funny.

Unlike most men, a feminine woman never laughs AT a child. The child knows he is being laughed AT, and it hurts a lot. They never feel laughed AT by a decent woman.

She likes a child being a child.. It is funny natural, not funny stupid.

She looks at men much the same way. I don’t have to tell a woman that I am going to screw up or let my macho get in the way of good sense. I don’t have to agonizingly explain why I did something male dumb the way I do to men.

She not only accepts it, but, on a far more practical level, she ANTICIPATES it. She is at my back.

This is not new. A couple of thousand years ago the man came in and said,

“I just conquered Rome.”

She replied,

“That’s WONDERFUL, dear, now get those wet clothes off before you catch a chill.”

In those days, if you got a chill you were just as dead as if a Roman cut you up with his sword.

The man here is brave. He is smart. The woman genuinely admires him. But she does not assume he will naturally do what is obvious to her. She ANTICIPATES,

It can be dry clothes. It can be a computer upgrade. It can be the Empress Theodora telling her husband that an Imperial purple robe makes a fine shroud. She does not assume that the man, much as she genuinely admires him, will hit the basics.

I simply cannot teach a male aide, and I have had many, to back me up the way a woman finds natural. And it doesn’t occur to her that I am being a damned fool. I am simply being a man.

She expects me to be a man and a baby to poop in its britches.

I don’t think a women’s libber or a macho man would find that comparison amusing. But I bet SysOps and Shari will.

Yes,ha, I know men aren’t perfect and mess up sometimes, but I sure don’t trust men who have “very egalitarian ideas.” You can’t depend on them for much of anything.
