In response to “What End?” Joe writes,

“You said in a recent talk you gave that some historical figure said, ‘Madam, opinion rules the world.’ You went on to say that this is true, i.e., opinion does rule the world. This appears to be the same thing as saying that Wordism rules the world. The idea that the truth can be found in a book or in an opinion. Wordism, as I understand it, is the opposite of kinship. I am prepared to accept that definition as legitimate. Your talk made it very clear what the situation was and is. The world is a big place. Opinion rules the world. Wordism rules the world. How does kinship fit into the scheme of things in this relatively unhappy state of affairs? ”

Joe has brought us back to what Bob’s Bog is supposed to be about. Joe has also read what I said, leistened to what I said, and THOUGHT about it. That makes my work worthwhile.

Having done all this, Joe has expressed an OPINION.

But note that his opinion starts with what JOE thinks is right. Nobody has an opinion in a vacuum. An opinion is the way you want to do something that you feel needs doing.

Wordism is the opposite of opinion. A wordist has done a frontal lobotomy on his brain and stuck a book in there.

To say that a Wordist has an OPINION is like saying that a when a frog throws out his tongue and nabs a fly, the frog is expressing an opinion.

To a Wordist, anyone who expresses an actual opinion is a bigot. To a Wordist, the only legitimate “opinion” or “preference” is written down in his Book. He cannot say homosexuality is, IN HIS OPINION, a bad thing. He must have a quote from Leviticus say it for him.

Our preference for our kin is an natural preference. The survival of our race is an opinion that runs counter to all the universalist forms of Wordism, from Modern Christianity to Islam to Communism to extreme (IN MY OPINION) libertarianism.

The problem with having a naked OPINION is that YOU are responsible for it. In the teeth of all the Wise Sayings and the Experts and the theologians, you are standing there saying, “You are all wrong, and if I am wrong, then I am responsible for it.”

Every relgiion says it is Eternal Truth, and, as secular opinion changes, every one of them suddenly discovers that their version of Eternal Truth was incorrect because they have just read something else into the ancient texts that conforms with Modern Opinion.

But the responsibility is never their own. They were always right, just mistaken in their interpretation. So they go on saying thy’re always right.

Being a free man leaves you naked unto the world. If you are wrong, you are just plain WRONG.

So when the Reformed Church and the esablished leadership in South Africa suddenly decided they had been wrong and that whites should turn the country over to black rule, the people could not unite behind their own feeling of race. Their feeling of race was all invested in the Church and the National Party.

I have never had any trouble with the question, “What would happen if you discovered you had a lot of black or Indiaqn blood in you?”

My OPINION is that the white race has a right to survive, and the world desperately needs it. I would oppose genocide against the black race with or without any black blood.

The OPINION I get the most complaints about is that if you throw together a mix of two races it LOOKS awful in almost all cases. I do not mix Coca-Cola with beer, not because the beer isn’t good or the Coke isn’t good, but because they were developed to have distinctive tastes and if you throw them together they taste awful.

When someone decides that they are In Love and therefore they have the right to make generations of children look ugly and unnatural, no Wordist says that the children have any rights in the matter at all. They will just have to look at it.

The reason people resent my saying that mixed-blood children look awful is because is precisely because it is TRUE. It is precisely what THEY think of when they see a mixed couple or a mixed-blood child.

You aren’t supposed to say it because it is everybody’s opinion and therefore it shouldn’t be stated for the sake of the same children you werenot the slightest bit concerned with when you swooned over a black man and a blond woman who were In Love.

And you can’t say that preceisely because it is not only your OPINION, it is the opinion all future generations will have to live with.

I do agree that whites have a right to exist and that it is important. And that opinion, does not mean wishing harm to any other race. I remember seeing the actress, Halle Berry on the Larry King show. She was talking about the turmoil her father had caused when she was growing up and how sometimes she had to remind herself that she was black. It made me wonder if there might not come a day when she would look at her white mother and say, WHAT on earth were you thinking? Shari

Joe, what bothers me about you Irish types (I am an Honorary Boston
Southie) is that you are so reserved.

Aren’t you afraid that someday all that restraint will cause you to
bust out and say things people wouldn’t approve of?

Irish only on one side, Bob. County Cork. The other side is Viking. Reserved? There was a time when I was younger (about the same time that you were younger) that I was not even capable of speaking to another human being. I was damaged goods. Badly damaged goods. Just a young man. It took a long time for me to be able to relate to people and converse with them. Years. I am still a basically reserved man. Quiet. Not much of a loudmouth. My recovery took a long time. Some experiences never quite go away. It is true that I, like a Kilkenny Cat, can get go into serious combat. Then the fur really flies. I pick the time and the place. I like to be considerate. I appreciate Southern Courtesy. A lot. As far as my writing style is concerned, I have been told long ago that I tend to use strong language and write strong letters. I do what comes naturally. I don’t normally try to manipulate the audience. I’m not selling anything. I’m not asking for anybody to vote for me. I have never been a member of any political party. I am not afraid that I will bust loose at the seams and fall apart. I am very opinionated. I know that. But I am still open to evidence from anyone. My opinions come from a lifetime of living and learning and observing. If someone does not approve of what I’m saying, that is not a problem. I’m not selling anything. I’m just attempting to contribute. Here (Bob’s Blog) or anywhere else my policy never changes. I’m attempting to contribute. I’m not competing with anyone. I’m not trying to upstage anyone. I appreciate your concern, Bob, but no, I am not afraid of anyone disapproving of what I say. I say to them it’s their right to disapprove of what I say. I had the great joy of listening to D.I.C.T.A. today for the first time along with “Experts.” Immediately, D.I.C.T.A. reminded me of the Kitty Genovese case. I was in the area at the time. It was utterly disgraceful what happened to Kitty Genovese. Totally unforgiveable. I just discussed that case with a retired policeman friend of mine from the Big Apple. He remembers it too. With the same attitude I have.
