Joe, Me, and Ego

Joe says:

Not spam.. Minor error. Working in OR out of your league does do squat for your ego: it keeps it intact. That’s what causes people unnecessarily to need a pat on the back.

In your case, not mine.

Joe, I guess I’m just a girly man. I have fought a lot of battles alone and I don’t LIKE it. A lot of times I need moral support and I have learned to ASK for it.

You never need a pat on the back.

I do.

Yep. Joe again. That was my point. Because of egotism you need a pat on the back. All egotists need a pat on the back. Dissolve your ego and you won’t need a pat on the back.

When you said, “in your case, not mine” that was your egotism speaking. Your essence is something altogether different from that.

NO, you’re not a girly man. Dependence on the approal of others is not a sign of emotional maturity. Fighting all these battles alone for such a long period of time has made it very difficult to dissolve your self-centeredness. That is why your feelings are so easily hurt. In the final analysis, there was no need to fight all those battles. The mere fighting of these battles intensifies and hardens your egotism.

If you’re a genius, as you say you are, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. At some level.
