Yes, Minister!

Posted by Bob on August 15th, 2006 under Coaching Session

A hilarious coincidence!

I justed talked abour the “giving money back” scam and I just mentioned that the BBC’s “Yes. Minister” and “Yes, Prime Minister” were basic lessons in real government.

So I was just watching my tape of one whow that includes half the government lessons I just gave here. At this moment, the minister tried to cut costs, so the bureucrats decided it was time for the “the old economy begins at home tactic.” So they persuaded him to cut his own staff, his car, and have his top staff do the typing.

All of which, of course, put him and his civil service-cuting bit completely in the dust while he tried desperately to get h is routine work done.

Which is exactly what happened to Helms and the other conservatives. Every time I named something that needed doing in oversight or thousands of m archers I had brought to Washington at their own expense as a grassroots protest, conservatvies never had the TIME to coordinated with me.

John Ashbrook never “gave back” a dime. He told me he used everything he could get to fight the other side.

I told you he was an unpopular loner.

I just looked at the newsgroups and I found a 3 DVD set of Yes, Minister and a 4 DVD set of Yes, Prime Minister available for download. I can’t wait to see what they’re about.

I just found out something odd. Ashbrook’s papers are held at the college that my great-great grandfather (Virginian born) once temporarily owned while the affiliated denomination was going through a split over eternal security — or damnable eternal security, depending on which relative one is speaking to.
