Whales were saved from extinction because whale oil became obsolete. Whale oil lamps were essential in the old days.
It is not the first world but the third world that destroys its native life forms and dumps pollution into the air. It is Brazil that is destroying its jungles, aka, rain forests. Brazil, brown country with an exploding population, can’t afford not to.
In the jungles of Central America are the ruins of gigantic temples, built by civilizations that rose, destroyed their environment, and fell. Elizabeth and I have discussed how American Indians destroyed the land and would have made the Shenandoah Valley into a desert if the white man had not come along.
As always, the recurrent theme of Political Correctness is complete silliness. They say that nature is being destroyed “in the name of progress.” Back on Planet Earth it is the stagnant society that uses the same resources until they are no more. If Coal had not been developed into coke and other means found to use it, Europe would have been totally deforested.
But, unlike other societies, Europe developed an increasing need as it grew, but it also developed new MEANS. Coal and brick replaced wood.
China is in desperate need for reforestation. The paddy culture, developed in India, dates back to Roman times. It is not nearly as “ancient” as legend tells it. But the paddy culture is a recycling culture. China ruined its forests, but it retains the beautiful, clean paddies, where human dung is a major ingredient of the recycling.
At the beginning of this century, books would say, “As in medieval Europe, in China you can smell a city five miles before you reach it.” And if it were not for Europe, they would be that way today. People who will live in a sty are not likely to be environmentalists.
No, progress does not destroy nature. Stagnation destroys it.

Marxs wrote the Communist Manifesto at a time when Europe was kicking in gear the Industrial Revolution. Workers flocked to the cities seeking jobs is the new factories and housing was in short supply and over crowded. The pollution from the factories and the filth from the slums added up to a gross hell on earth. The Industrial revolution was a unique shift in the cultures of these times which were primarily agricultural with cottage industries. This revolution occured rapidly and since it was untried there were of course negitive and unsightly consequences that were a result. In time the market for housing caught up with those seeking decent living quaters, sanitation improved when city planers worked out ways and areas to dispose of waste and the work for operation it came up to snuff. The moral here IS, when events like the industrail Revolution kick into gear the services that are need to accomidate new problems that arrise need more time to catch up and work out the kinks, doomsdayers like Marx and others seen it as the end of the world and thats all they accomplished. It was the strong will and ingenuity of the average man, who rose to the occasion and solved the pollution and squalor problems of industrialization. So called intellecuals like Marx never solved one simple problem their entire lives and this is true of the PC crowd. Their entire lives are spend tearing down society and demoralizing the very men who solved the Ills of the new industrial age, these PC idiots are total defeatest. The politically Correct crowd hates society and people in gereral, the only satifaction they trecieve in life is, making the rest of us as misreable.

This opens the door to a serious review of so much, including the ability of the Jews to claim victim status, and a right to make us write blank checks – both morally and financially – to them.
That this is in “The Economist” looks like a signal that the Establishment has had it with paying infinite amounts of blood and treasure to the Asiatic Hive Consciousness.
Things ARE changing.
This book would have been unthinkable to publish, even five years ago, much less have received the imprimatur of the Establishment.

That all the stupid Spaniards could do with their New World riches is salt the narcissisms of their aristocracy while Anglo-Saxon people used those riches to build fabulous armies and navies, institute the most sophisticated forms of governance the world has ever known, and create an unimaginable new industrial world says everything about us, for we create worlds, and will continue to do so, even though we are being swamped by nonwhite fecundity (a result of the collapse of the cost of protein we gave the world by our agricultural revolution).

Think of the reality of things in comparing whites to nonwhites: For example, Iran had a revolution in 1979. That is over 35 years ago and for 35 years they have been screaming at “the Great Satan”. In that time “the Great Satan” created several new sciences in genetics and biology, discovered chaos theory (a new advanced mathematics), invented many new material sciences (advanced microcircuits and molecular mechanics), collapsed the cost of education (the Internet), automated the supply chain (enterprise software, EDI, and XML technology), solved the problem of recordkeeping (low cost electronic storage media), and increased labor productivity several fold.
We English and Germanic speaking white people did that while the Iranians did nothing but scream at us.
That’s nonwhite people for you, but let us give nonwhites some credit: Cubans have been able to keep their 1950s American Chevy’s running as long as someone gives them the gasoline for free (refined in refineries built and run by Germanic and Anglo-Saxon white men).

Well “progress” is being used to destoy nature as well now. Everything is being built the most rapacious and expensive way possible with the best farmland being gobbled up, because money must be CONTINUOUSLY made. But I think that stupidity has to end. Iran continues to drill for oil, when we have a shortage, dumbo or GW talks about wind power, this asshole was in the iol business. Iran doesnt allow uncontrolled, white immigration into their nation, our goverment allows the non white invasion. Petroleum only became a viable source of power when whales became scarce. Lots of money got invested in oil drilling in Pennsylvania, the first oil capital of the U.S. This started in the 1850s, and, until the automobile came along, most of the petroleum got turned into kerosene for lamps.
We have plenty of resources, but it takes guts, money and imagination to get that stuff out of rock. Good jobs and real money come from energy exploration and related industry, such as oil and gas refining, NOT from tourism.
