I have bragged that two of my graduate professors later won Nobel Prizes in economics. I doubt seriously that anyone else can say this, no matter where they went to school.
There was actually a point to this bragging besides telling you what a genius I am. The point was that the school I went to, the graduate school of economics at the University of Virginia, was the major refuge for conservative economists in the early 1960s.
In fact, the reason I did not finish my doctorate was because all my professors were fired. The man in line to take over as Dean had openly and repeatedly vowed that, once he took over, he would “clean out that nest of right-wingers.”
The minute he took over as Dean, he did just that. Both my first and second readers for my dissertation were fired, tenure be damned. My second reader, James Buchanan, later won the Nobel Prize in economics.
That Dean, by the way, was one of the members of the 1960s Free Speech Movement.
Professor Buchanan then got a job at the University of California in Berkeley. The Free Speech left there bombed his office.

You know, one of the very serious problems I have is that describing what really happened sounds farfetched to ME.

I have received a number of death threats from these nice “afromericans” that habitate in this country. They don’t like me to call’em nigger and point out what an immoral liar and scum ball their martin of loofer really was instead of the phony image.
