What I consider THE Testament describes the life of Jesus from his birth. But the last we hear of him until his ministry is when he was a twelve-year-old talking with the Priests of the Temple. There is almost twenty years of dead silence about his life.
This is critical. Jesus already knew all of the theology and Old Testament and the Law and all the rest that “Christians” keep quoting and reading and demanding that people read. He knew more abut that stuff than the scholars on the spot did, both in Greek and in Hebrew.
That was where Jesus STARTED. Twenty years later he came out making bald, simplistic-sounding statements. All of them were in Aramaic, the language of the people. If Jesus had not made them, most of those statements would be disowned by every theologian from Calvin to the Roman Curia.
“Christians” are sliding back into the Old Testament. The only differenceis that they call their High Priests theologians and ministers and bishops.
As Prometheus said, making things simple is HARD. If it took JESUS twenty years, we have a very large job to do.

Bob, was Joe Sobarn’s “Optional Jesus” article written on your behalf — or is it a coincidence he penned such a scathing attack on those who intrepret Jesus’ words in distinct opposition to the “Church’s” views?
He may not return your phone calls but I’ll betcha’ he’s reading over your shoulder.

In my opinion, “Christians” are making a huge mistake sliding back into the old testament because that is not where they are supposed to be.

Actually, christians sliding into the old testament is a lot like the things that israel did in the old testament that drove God away from them. But isn’t this “falling away” also predicted in the new testament? So, there is hope. But meanwhile standing up for your RACE, not your church, is very right and nessessary. Your children and “neighbors” are not pious absractions, they are flesh and blood people.

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding Jesus Versus Mommy Professor, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong 🙂
