Why Does Bob Still Write for BUGS?
I’ve have been under the influence of BW’s writings and audio presentations for a long time and reflect on them continually. They have been a great aid to the development of my own consciousness and diplomatic skill.
There really isn’t anyone other than BW whose writings or thoughts give better instruction or a more comprehensive foundation in the consciousness of an effective revolutionary. I often wonder how much the other participants in this seminar are “getting it”, getting it in the way I am and being as deeply influenced as I am.
For example, why is adeptness in diplomacy (whether in business or politics) so greatly undervalued while simultaneously it is so greatly needed?
I think the general level of “cluelessness” is the answer. Getting a grip on diplomacy requires a steep and accurate “sightedness” quite absent even in the professional and political big leagues.
Academia and continuing professional education focus on it hardly at all, and when they do, they do so in a silly and ignorant way. I have yet to run across any coursework, seminars, or conferences in business or political diplomacy that weren’t just nonsense or some sort of con aimed at selling tickets to fund speaker’s fees.
Yet BW’s work is so greatly centered on the subject of diplomacy as a central subtext of our struggle. In other words, BW’s work is centered on an effective way to understand and effectively respond to a deeply irrational world.
Responding to irrationality in others underlies diplomacy. Accordingly, BW’s thought aids us in turning the spigot of our ineffective political and emotional reactivity off.
And I have learned NOT TO REACT as a result of my own growing consciousness. Accordingly I have become more “centered” and I have acquired a more accurate “sightedness” stemming from BW’s influence.
Consequently, I am acquiring a confidence in my own diplomatic acuity and skill that I never had before. Also, I am acquiring a deeper and more confident understanding of what it means to have the mindset and consciousness of a genuine revolutionary.
Therefore, it is becoming clearer to me what really needs to happen for the revolution we want to happen to occur. As BW says: “Focus on what works!”
