Dammit!

Posted by Bob on December 27th, 2007 under Coaching Session

Whenever I put in something like “Team Depth” below, something that is really critical to me, I get a resounding silence.

Silence is hard to READ. It could mean that, after working my butt off for years, I have put a point so well that it needs no elaboration. You’ve said that.

But, dammit, it won’t DO.

You’ve all seen the “dropped call” ads. You know what silence can DO.

I remember that in Animal House the Donald Sullivan professor admitted to his class that studying Milton was absurd, but when the bell rang, he reminded them that they still had to report to him on Milton, “I’m not joking here. This is my JOB!”

What I say in pieces like “Team Depth” is the purpose my LIFE. I need successors to a WAY OF THINKING. I need SysOps and BoardAds to take control, I need Lord Nelsons and Prometheuses (Promethethii?) to peal off and attack the enemy without me lifting a finger.

Coaching Depth is a BIG DEAL to me.

So you are tired of hearing this. I am tired of repeating it. But on my end it is like the dropped call ads.

I CANNOT READ SILENCE.

Come on Bob, it’s been less than three hours from the time you posted team depth. I doubt anyone but You, Peter, and Myself have seen it.

The time it takes me to write a cobbled together email is 15 minutes, a half hour or more for coherency. I don’t want to tell you how much time is added to that when I have to THINK!

He is right. Also, while we test the system after changes, we had to disconnect ALL of the “notification systems” that come with blogs to troubleshoot. Some will not know there is a new post until they physically come and check the page. As discussed, and I believe everyone was notified, we cannot allow the internal system to generate/send emails to anyone using a Yahoo! email address. All of us will have to get email addresses for blog/forum purposes from other providers. About half had Yahoo — that’s one part of the problem.

Also, it’s the Christmas to New Year week. We geeks are probably the only ones allowed to sit here in the computer chairs that long. 🙂

Kindly note that I am on my 4th reincarnation. Each one annoyingly required setting up a mailbox in addition to registering, etc. All this during the holiday season in which, despite my bah humbug disposition, my cup flows over, which requires me to lick the damned table dry. In any case there are at the moment social and technical delays inhibiting Comments. Buck up.

Well, I still do have the workaholic mentality. I used to look forward to holidays because it meant no one else was in the office.

My interests are in opposition research. Now tell me Bob, were effective researchers milling about the coffee pot swapping lies with you or at their desks working their tails off? My main two endeavors are the liberal’s mental state as related to Peak Oil (regardless of the oil supply/demand curve the effect of the easy life disappearing and its effect on their mental state), and secondly why jews have gone batshit over the latest genetics scandal. Like you and the mantra with the antis its is about finding the borders of PC and testing and breaking the limits that make any of us useful. Like Bill Buckley was useful in 1955 but then went stagnant (save for the cash at NR that floated the anti-commie intellegensia) if your not testing and chipping off the PC veneer your not useful, I find the borders of that veneer.
