Quiet Desperation

Posted by Bob on November 20th, 2004 under Musings about Life

I think it was Emerson or Thoreau who said, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.”

And women are always wondering, “Why can’t he be satisfied with…?”

The answer to this question is everywhere.

Everywhere except among the women’s libbers and the so-called “intellectuals” who teach women to be men.

It is the male peacock who shows his feathers. It is the male of every species who struts his stuff. It is the male lion who wants more mates.

No male of any species is ever satisfied. No male of any species is ever fulfilled. No male of any species is “happy.”

The female of every species checks to be sure the kids are doing well. If the ones she loves are all right she is satisfied. The only reason she is not fully satisfied is because the male she cares about is not all right.

Be she human or lion or peacock, she cannot understand why he is not satisfied.

Is there ever an end to taking dominion? A moment’s satisfaction is fleeting, and with that the bar is raised and achievement is in view once again – restlessness for moving on.

For a white man there is never an end to taking dominion.

That is the nature, the tragedy, the glory of being a white man.

Most wives look at what the cause of the dissatisfaction is. If the cause is sexual, her attitude is “too bad.” If the cause is not enough peace at home, once more “too bad.” The list could go on. Suffice it to say, feminists, and those poisoned by them, which is the overwhelming majority of women in this country, really don’t much care about their men. As de Toqueville said about American women, “the are strong, independent and unfeminine.” Yet, when it is time to make a decision they “feel” rather than “think.”

For a man his wife is the peacock’s tail. If she is elegant it is very good, If she is pretty to boot, even better. Too many women think being ornamental is degrading. Being Eleanor Smeal is degrading, being ornamental is feminine. A woman can be ornamental only if she is elegant – intelligent and refined. Eleanor Smeal is a harpy no intelligent man wants to be around. Finding feminine women is very hard in the US which is why so many men go to the Phillipines and the former USSR for wives. Life is too short to spend it with a harpy.
