Skype

Posted by Bob on July 10th, 2007 under Bob

I now have Skype back, but I need to test it out.

I will NOT use it much, as I HATE talking or IM’s.

In order to test the Skype, I need someone’s Skpe number, which brings up a separate point:

If you have a message to ME, and NOT on the BUGS Yahoo! Group, PLEASE put “NOT SPAM” on the TITLE. I get the BUGS Yahoo! Group, which so far has been only blog comments, and I have to pile through all the spam. So I only READ notes from people I know and check to be sure COMMENTOR’S names are attached to the Yahoo site, since I’ll see their comments on the blog.

SO, in order for me to READ what you say in BUGS or to me directly, I need you to put the old NO SPAM on it so I’ll check it out.

I would like to have a Skype number or two from you to try, mine out.

BUT when you send it, your title will have to have NO SPAM on it. And even after I try my Skype out, the ONLY way to be SURE I get a personal message will be an SF PM or an e-mail to my personal address WITH NO SPAM IN THE TITLE.

I have a cell phone and a land line, but I treat them as I will treat Skype, as something I HATE to check and I check messages seldom.

, NOT SPAM in the title, got it, gang?. When you get old, you have a right to be picky.

To add me go to contacts, then add a contact, type in my skype name and click find.

[ Bob, you should see a message/chat from me & JK when you look into Skype. You show as Online. 5:13pm EDT.–SysOp ]

Getting prepped for an edit test, it is not functioning correctly it appears.

    <script language=”JavaScript”> <!– // hide script var sb_domain = “yahoo.com” var sb_user = “bobw1830” var sb_recipient = sb_user + “@” + sb_domain var sb_url = “mailto:” + sb_recipient document.write(“bobw1830@yahoo.com“.link(sb_url)); // –></script>

BEST folks: When you see email addresses on the blog or on your own webpages… they should be coded using some sort of script that the SPAM scrapers can’t read as email. I just happen to use the above. Three places need to be customized to your own needs.

The first is your domain the email is attached to (yahoo.com above),
the second is the username (bobw1830)
and the third is what you want to actually display on the page (bobw1830@yahoo.com).
Only the third can be whatever text you want.

All three must stay within the quotations marks exactly as you see above or it will not function — invoke your computer’s default email program to bring up a new compose message window with the customized email address in the To: line.
