In the novel 1984, the all-powerful State went to the trouble of beating an arrested person down until he loved Big Brother.
THEN they shot him. But not before his mind was made pure. Not until he consented INTERNALLY.
And they said so.
The subject of Orwell’s novel asked them why, since they already had him on a death sentence for his speech and writings, they spent so much time and effort, even the time of a top Party member, torturing him and beating him down.
The senior Party member said that the essence of this horrendous tyranny was that they would not settle for outward conformity. They had to get IN the mind and make it consent.
The last words of the novel are, “He loved Big Brother.”
The essence of freedom is that one can be made to obey the laws, but not that you have to believe in them. An old hit song used to say, “You can’t arrest a guy for what he’s thinking.”
The 1964 Civil Rights Act brought an end to that. It said Federal aid was to be denied states that did not intend to integrate at the greatest speed they could manage. Anyone from a Southern State who did not guarantee that he was FOR integration risked sanctions, the least of which was the withdrawal of Federal aid, against its schools.
You won’t see this discussed anywhere else.
The Boston Southies were the only people I have ever met who had both a memory and a conscience. When I was up there handling their press relations, several of them told me that they had cheered when the Feds had enforced integration in the South.
Now the Southie’s children were being bussed. Now they understood what we were talking about.
What is unique is that THEY remembered it, that THEY brought it up.
They REMEMBERED it. They were ASHAMED of it. I have not run into such people since, and I had not before.
The star of MASH made a movie where he played a crusading liberal senator. A high point of the movie was when he exposed the fact that a Southern official had criticized integration in private conversation. The whole court said, “AAAH!”
When Senator McCarthy did that sort of thing it was condemned. Private opinions were sacrosanct. The fact that Robert Oppenheimer had only Communist friends was not to be used against him. You had to prove actual treason, not a mere admiration for Stalinists who were gobbling up the world.
The crime now is doing what I do, refusing to say that I have no concern whatsoever about the end of my own race.
Today the charge is “racism,” and racism means that you do not consent INTERALLY to the disappearance of your race. The last time we had that sort of demand for internal consent it was called the Inquisition.
Anti-whites are, literally, Thought Police.

In 1967 Boston City Hall was sending employees, as volunteers, into the South to assure that the Voting Rights Act was being enforced. They worked to register Negroes, and only Negroes. A couple of these dedicated true blue partisans of the right to vote were drawn from the Election Department.
In 1967 I registered to vote in Boston as was my right. It was not a simple matter. In the evenings I worked on the mayoral campaign of John W. Sears. As the primary drew closer he reminded me to register as I had only recently moved to Boston. I went down to the Hall, took the literacy test and registered.
A few days later he asked if I had and I assured him that I had. He then asked a second question, “Did you enroll in a party?”
“Sure, I’m a Republican.”
“You’re not registered.”
He told me to go back to City Hall and ask to see my name in the book. The next day I did so. The same clerk checked the book and told me that I was indeed registered.
That evening John asked if I had gone to the Hall. I told him that I had and that I was registered.
“Did you see your name in the book?” he insisted.
“Well, no, the book is behind the counter. The clerk checked it.”
“You’re not registered.” he said.
John then explained to me that all Republicans are clerical errors in Boston the first time they register. Afterwards, if a complaint is made, and only after a complaint is made, the name will be added to the Voter’s List. He instructed me to return to the Hall, and if the clerk did not bring the book to me to go to a Republican Commissioner, Perley Dyer Chase, and apprise him of the situation.
Next noontime I was johnny-on-the-spot. The clerk refused to bring the book, telling me that he didn’t have time to waste on me since he had already registered me and verified the registration. He was quite put out.
Off to Perley’s office. We returned and he rather solemnly announced that a citizen wished to examine a public record as was his right. The clerk, red faced, angrily crumpled a piece of paper, tossed it on the floor and exclaimed, “All right, I’ll register him.”
Those “idealists” who went down South to register illiterate Negroes were equally dedicated to keeping educated Whites off the rolls in their own back yard if they were Republicans. Those anti-racist activists in the South were anti-White activists when at home in the North. They really do hold you in contempt with a religious fervor steeped in self hate.
I experienced it forty-three years ago as a young man. And it is a lesson that I’ve never forgotten. Anti-racism is code for anti-White.

Had dinner with Bostonians who, despite being from dire poverty, so much so they had to take far-away jobs, s/a being shipped off to fight big fires in the brush with convicts in California—but they had found time to save Appalachians and Southerners by expense-paid travels of their church.
They were more redneck than the rednecks, but had no clue about why they were being sent to offer money to build housing for Appalachians and Southerners, and they showed absolutely no shame about their hypocrisy, nor how horribly they’d been internally gutted, personally, and that they were exposing this weakness whenever they opened their mouths.
They had no religion, not really, (except anti-whiteness in the name of the pope) and no extended kinship base, not really. They had nothing the Appalachians would ever have wanted, and yet no way to understand that about themselves, and what buffoons they had been, traipsing around in their church bus, building houses with tax money when they, themselves, were the destitute ones, and had nothing to recommend themselves, s/a kinship group or stories to tell, etc, no real culture. (Just calling people “bigots” is not really funny or interesting or intelligent, in terms of having a good conversation.)
They were describing their current (Southern) neighbors as “bigots,” (they’d moved there, despite hating the people), so it had to be pointed out the neighbors saw themselves as “discerning,” more likely, and were obviously organizing their lives and experience around things that mattered, s/a extended kinship groups, and genuine community, instead of money or something else, s/a being anti-white as a claim to fame.
Bigotry is another code word for anti-white. Lately, ‘bigotry,’ seems to be gaining ground over ‘racist.’ Racist seems to have disappeared, so bigot is used a lot.
Anyway, few white kids even consider voting– in the U.S., anyway. Their whole lives, they have been outcasts (those the others “save,” or try to “reconstruct,” or “educate” about how awful they are, and they’re told to register other groups “minorities” who deserve things, and are the focus and center of the country, for school projects and thing s/a that (just like the Bostonians went off to save Appalachians) , and anyway, the elections are all about which minorities will get which money if so-and-so is elected.
So why would they vote?

I don’t think Winston Smith was shot, worse he had to live with himself the rest of his natural life.
That said even our religous battles are racial in nature. Libs do not hate black, brown or asian jesus, just White Jesus.
But I think the White Libs have really screwed the pooch by taking black, brown allah under their tiny wings, because black, brown allah won’t sit there like black jesus and take its lumps, allah according to its believers really belongs in the front seat (if the front seat existed in the 7th century).
Anyway to the above to posters the Mantra is a deprogramming question that thru severe mental pain cuts thru the cult spun knot the cultees find themselves in via the anti-white cult.

The certainties of the Establishment have ground everything to a halt. In fact, things have been stilled for a long time. The culture we are now in is one of endless despair that nothing can be made to happen.
This breeds intellectual cults and everyone stumbles around unaware of their blinders.
If the first door you walk through is not the right door, every subsequent door you walk through will be the wrong door.
That is why we here at BUGS alone know what our society’s stagnation is really about.

It’s very hard to tell how much “internal” consent some one has given. Many will say something from time to time,that indicates they haven’t entirely, internally consented, but then they turn around and take up where they left off. It’s very frustrating.

I agree Dave. The latest and greatest liberal placed taboo being Islam. Well if Islam is the answer then all those sophisticated morons of the provincial Left have no purpose except to die off.
Because now we know if Islam is correct AGW is “god’s will.”
PC has come full circle, what next is entrail autopsy being sanctioned in Times Square.
The depth of despair is being plumbed, no bottom in sight.

Seriouswon wonders if the Southie people Bob W is speaking of are Irish. There’s many Irish in Southie (I’m from up that way originally) but the urban dictionary defines Southie in one place as:
“South Boston: Full of Hard ass niggas mostly Irish, Italian and Black. Its ran by the mafia and gangsters. The girls there are fine as hell . All they do is fight, drink, smoke and party. You want to see if your tough roll up in the fucking place and trust they will eat u alive i know from my own experiences.”
What “richness” they are experiencing there! What “culture”! Yes if richness means dirty, stinky streets and culture means having to be on hyper-alert when you’re in the neighborhood.
Hate to see my people called “niggas”. Multiculturalism has RUINED our youth. I’m proud the Irish stand their ground there but by God, why should they have to?
Now I live in a planned West Coast community chosen by me for it’s safety but it really is NOT safe due to Mexican immigration, despite what the newspaper claims. There was a robbery/knifing one week after I moved here at my local grocery store and one of my daughter’s young friends barely escaped being kidnapped by 4 Mexicans in a van last year. And this is the “good” part of my county.
Older daughter is almost 23 and has yet to vote and refuses to. Says everyone lies and she’s right. I mantra her every chance I get.
